Somaliland postpones presidential elections

Somali self-declared state of Somaliland has postponed the presidential elections for nine months.

The election commission has said it will delay the election process which has already created a lot of political tension between the Silanyo government and the opposition.

The registration for elections will take place within next six months according the electoral commission committee.

The election was set to be held soon before the decision to delay has emerged.

Self-declared state which is not internationally recognized has enjoyed stability and democratic elections.
