Military Police Withdrawn From Parliament After Speaker Motion is Halted

The military police that had been deployed at the Parliament buildings in anticipation of the motion against the Speaker have been withdrawn.

This follows early Saturday meeting between President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo Speaker Mohamed Osman in which it was resolved that the impeachment motion be suspended to ease the current political tension in the country.

The military police were deployed on the 6th of March attracting protest from a section of Mps who accused the executive of interfering with the planned motion.

Jawari had on Thursday called for Farmaajo to withdraw the new security agents saying the move was illegal.
