Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has facilitated the safe return of 191 Somali youth stranded in Libya, through the Voluntary Humanitarian Return (VHR) program.
In partnership with the European Union (EU), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Ministry ensured the successful repatriation of the citizens, with 68 arriving in Hargeisa and the remainder in Mogadishu.
Foreign Affairs Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi emphasized that this initiative is part of the Federal Government of Somalia’s ongoing efforts to address migration challenges and support the reintegration of its citizens.
The Ministry, along with key government officials, reiterated their commitment to protecting Somali nationals abroad and helping them rebuild their lives at home.
