Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has congratulated new elected Nigerian President General Muhamadu Buhari.
President Mohamud who called General Buhari has also applauded Nigerian people for the democratic success.
He said Somalia and Nigeria share common interest and there is need to strengthen the diplomatic ties between the two states.
General Buhari defeated incumbent President Goodluck Johnathan in the parliamentary and presidential elections held in the Africa largest economy.
Security, economy and corruption are the main challenges facing Buhari administration.
