Somali police seize narcotic drugs at Aden Adde Airport

Police detectives in Mogadishu confirmed Sunday they seized several narcotic boxes in Mogadishu.

The narcotics were concealed in boxes when the police seized them at the country’s Aden Adde International Airport (AAIA) in Mogadishu from Nairobi according to the police.

The drugs seized by a team of officers led by a police spokesman Sadak Doodishe include 6 cartoons of Tramadol Capsule 100mg by Zain Pharma, 2 Cartoons of Codeine syrup, Pregabalin 2 Cartoons, Pethidine & oxycontin 100 mg and cartoon of Robadole tramadol inject.

According to the spokesperson the drugs is will be handed over to appropriate authorities for further investigation and prosecution.

He warned the drug cartels against trafficking drugs in Mogadishu and other regions.

The development comes amid intensified operations by the police, which are targeting drug stores that are said to be part of the insecurity.
