Somali legislatures urge government to evacuate refugees in Yemen

Somali national assembly members have called upon the government of President Hassan Sheikh Mohmaud to help evacuate Somali refugees caught up in Yemeni conflict.

Speaking to the media Hon. Ali Yussuf Osman has said there is immediate need for the government to evacuate Somali citizens in Kenya.

Another member Ahmed Mayow Abdulle said it is the responsibility of the federal government of Somalia to evacuate its citizens from the troubled nation.

There are estimated 236,000 Somali refugees in Yemen who fled the civil war in the country in 1990s.
