SNA and AMISOM take new areas from Al Shabaab

Somali National Army backed by African Union Troops also known as AMISOM have taken new areas near Xudur from armed group Al Shabaab.

The towns ceased from Al Shabaab include La Helay and La Galay near Xudur town.

Somali government said it will continue the operation against the group to the take the remaining areas under their control.

Al Shabaab which often carries out hit and run attacks in the capital Mogadishu and neighboring Kenya has lost swathes of areas to Somali National Army and African Union peacekeeping troops in the country for the past years.
