Uganda Police call for calm amid terror threat

Uganda Police have called for public calm regarding US embassy terror warning in the country.

Police commissioner General Kale Kayihura has urged members of the public to continue with their daily activities without fear.

“Don’t be scared, terrorist always use threats to threaten people,” he said.

US embassy in Kampala has last week issued warning that armed group Al Shabaab is planning to carry out attacks in the country.

The embassy has called upon US citizens and other friendly countries to take extra caution by avoiding social gatherings popular with westerners.

Al Shabaab attack on a hotel in Ugandan capital, Kampala on December 2010 has killed over 75 people watching world cup final match between Spain and the Netherlands.
