Somaliland rejected to Istanbul talks over its native represention of rival Mogadishu

The self-declared state of Somaliland has boycotted Turkish hosted talks in Istanbul with federal government.

Somaliland foreign minister Mohamed Yunus Bixi has told the media that his government will not accept to sit in the same negotiating table with representatives from Mogadishu who are native Somaliland.

Federal government of Somalia is represented in the talks by information minister Mohamed Abdi Hayir, transport minister Ali Ahmed Jamaa, former ports minister Said Qorshel and some members of parliament.

The talks were scheduled to start to discuss critical issues before Somaliland authorities raised their concerned and threatened to boycott if their demands were not met.

The delegates from both sides are already in Istanbul, Turkey.
