The reports coming in from the coastal town of Kismayo the headquarters of the lower Jubba region of Somalia say that dervish and police force of the autonomous state of Jubbaland fought inside the town on Tuesday morning.
The two forces fought over the ownership of an open land around the Jubbaland State House. Sources close to the area where the fight took place told the English department of Radio Dalsan that the casualties from both sides are 3 killed and 5 wounded.
Kismayo town is some 500km south of the Somali capital Mogadishu, and a functional seaport which does export and import services. Although the fight was intervened by the administration of Jubbaland and the local elders, still there are high tensions.
The President of Jubbaland is currently away for peace mediation in Galkaio between Puntland and Galmudug states.
