Somalia: Counterfeit alert from AU, keeps away hundreds of Somalis off from Liido Beach

The Intelligence department of the African Union has on Friday circulated security alert message to notable departments of the Somali federal government and to individuals in the Somalia capital Mogadishu.

Basically the security alert message which the AU has circulated was that there will be a suicide attack at Liido beach in Mogadishu on Friday. The AU said that the attack will be carried out by Silver Toyota VBIED, but very unfortunately there were no indications of such attacks.

This will definitely be a setback to the tremendous development which the city is making, and its immense disgracing for the intelligence department of the African Union to circulate such hearsays.

The English department of Radio Dalsan reached at the spokesman for the Ministry of security Mr. Mohamed Yusuf to confirm how far this security alert message is true.

“Myself I got the message, and we carried out thorough security investigations and in the end we found out that there was nothing like the possibility of suicide attack at Liido beach” said Yusuf.

Mr. Yusuf urged the Intelligence department of the AU to share with the Ministry before it posts any security alert.
