Somalia: Alshabab regains positions in Somalia

After the attack on African Union military garrison in Janale location in the lower Shabelle region by Alshabab fighters in which 15 Ugandan troops have been killed, it now seems that Alshabab fighters are regaining control of several locations in the lower Shabelle region.

AU troops have on Friday pulled out from Kuntuwarey district in lower Shabelle region, and on late Friday afternoon they have taken the full control of KM60 in the lower Shabelle region, and on Saturday the local residents in KM 50 have reported that they have seen Alshabab fighters in their location.

Alshabab is still an active group in Somalia despite having lost several key towns in Somalia.
