Somalia and Kenyan governments have mutually agreed to close look into the contentious issues between the two states that caused diplomatic raw for the last two weeks.
Sources within the meeting between the two Presidents in Nairobi on Tuesday have confirmed to Radio Dalsan that number of mutual agreements were reached between the two state leaders.
The federal government of Somalia has agreed to hold on ban on Kenyan khat whereas Nairobi has in return accepted to speed up direct Mogadishu – Nairobi flights while easing security checkups for Somali flights in Wajir and Nairobi.
On the other hand Kenyan government has also agreed to go on as per the tripartite agreement on refugees that paves way for voluntary repatriation of Somali refugees in Dadaab camp.
According to Somali Presidential spokesman Daud Aweys, the states have also agreed to strengthen security cooperation that already exists on fight against armed group Alshabaab.
According to International relations analyst Somalia has scored big in the talks on refugees with Kenya by turning its weakness (khat) into strength.
