Reports we are getting from Baladweyn town the headquarters of Hiraan region in central Somalia say that clashes between two tribes broke out in Holwadag section in the heart of the town.
According to the local residents in Howlwadag neighborhoods the exchange of heavy and light weapons can be heard. Independent source say that the root cause of the clash between the two tribes is about the collection of levies in the district and who is legitimized to collect the tax in Howlwadag.
The regional administration of Hiraan region has not yet given out comments regarding the clashes, but the inhabitants of Holwadag section left during the maneuvers.
So far 10 injured people from the battling sides have been taken to the medical centers and 4 are reported to have died.
There are some other civilians who are said to be injured by stray bullets, but with no strong confirmations.
