Somali MP sues Kenyan charity organization for defamation

Somali member of parliament has sued Islamic charity organization based in Kenya for using his name without consent.

Former Justice minister Farah Abdulkadir has presented the case to Somali chief justice to open the case.

He alleged that Islamic charity foundation non governmental organisation based in Kenya has falsefully used his name to hire a ship to deliver aid to Hudeyda,Yemen.

The ship in question MV liberty was turned down from Hudeyda port and is currently in Djibouti for investigations according to Somali National News Agency.

Mr. Abdulkadir who is one of the close friends of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is the founder of Kenyan based Islamic charity foundation and worked at various humanitarian organisations funded by the Muslim countries.

Islamic charity foundation is yet to comment on the allegations from Somali MP.
