The interim Somali federal elections commission has stressed its concern over another delay in the upcoming historic elections in the country.
Statement from the commission has called upon the government to resolvedthe disputed Somaliland, Hiran and Middle Shabelle regions issues that are stalling the realisation of the democratic exercise.
The commission wants the government to urgently declare the location for Hiran and Middle Shabelle region parliamentarian and lower house representatives election.
There is also unresolved number of lower house representatives allocation for Somaliland and Puntland state regions that has created head ache for both government and election commission.
As election delegates and tribal elders are heading to selected polling centres in major cities across the country for parliamentary elections there is fear that the process might be postponed again for contentious political issues still lingering.
