Secret doc reveals EU double standards in Somalia – Reports

Secret and very sensitive document obtained by an online Somalia media revealed European Union double dealings in Somalia.

According to Dalsoor media – an online media –  presents  how EU breaks own and international policies that on other hand wants African continent and world to follow its example.

The Online Media further identifies the documents is about a piece of land it obtained near Mogadishu International airport and how to manage it after completion of ongoing site construction.

One of the key points in the secret document bars Somali nationals or any one with Somali ethnicity to work or employed at EU bases built at their own ancestral land.  ”The contractor shall not employ Somali national or personnel of Somali origin for provision of service at the site except for construction phase,” the Online site adds.

In the hand over ceremony last year, Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud praised the role of EU in his country saying new projects will provide employment for young Somalis.

The authenticity of the documents can not be independently verified and calls to the EU representative to Somalia for comment remained unavailable.

If this proves true, the content of the secret document is in contrary to EU’s own laws.

The European Union provides support to Somalia from peace building projects to security sector improvements and is one of the key donors to the African Union mission to Somalia that’s fighting against the Shabab.
