President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has joined hundreds of Somalis in the seaside restaurant on the occasion of Eidul Fitr.
Accompanied by senior government officials, the President greeted the occupants of the Liido beach hotel one by one when he paid them surprised visit.
He wished them happy Islamic festival while waving to others swimming in the Indian ocean from the overlooking restaurant that was once attacked by armed group Alshabaab earlier this year killing scores of people.
President Sheikh Mohamud called upon the citizens to forgive one another and participate in the national building in order to move forward.
He urged nationals to take advantage of increasing foreign investments in the country saying it is a clear sign of improving stability in the recuperating state that experienced tribal based conflict in the two decades.
Muslim world celebrated end of holy month of Ramadan on Wednesday as Eidul Fitr.
