Police tighten security in Mogadishu after barbaric Kenya massacre

Somalia’s Federal police on Saturday blocked Mogadishu major roads to tighten security as Al-shabab continue to stage guerrilla attacks in the capital and elsewhere in the region.

The police have been checking people and vehicle movements to thwart further Al-shabab onslaughts amid more troops have been deployed in Mogadishu to carry out anti terror operations.

Troops searched vehicles entering the capital and increased the number of checkpoints in the city along with foot patrols, according to police officials.

Somalia’s Al-shabab militants have claimed latest attacks on Maka Al-mukarama hotel in Mogadishu and the Kenya’s Gaarisa University on Thursday. AMISOM forces are taking part in the operation.
