Obama arrives in Kenya but not to Kogelo

US President Barack Obama has arrived in his ancestral home on Friday and was immediately greeted with a hug from his half-sister Auma.

He then ate dinner with her and other relatives, including his 94-year-old step-grandmother Sarah Obama, known here as Mama Sarah.

Mr. Obama last visited Kenya and his late father’s village as a senator in 2006. But in a sign of the security concerns on the ground, he will not be traveling to Kogelo village on his trip.

Security has being heightened across the Kenyan capital city Nairobi during his two days visit before he heads to Ethiopia.

Over 800 US secret services and thousands of Kenyan security forces have been deployed.

While in Kenya President Barack Obama will attend 6th global entrepreneurship summit in Nairobi aimed at innovations and its role in sub-Saharan African economy.

Regional issues such as security, fight against armed group Al Shabaab, Human rights and democracy will also be expected to be discussed during Obama stay.
