NUSOJ new leadership takes office

The newly elected officials of National Union for Somali Journalists (NUSOJ) have officially taken the office.

The secretary general and the chairman were sworn in a colorful ceremony held in Mogadishu hotel on Tuesday.

Representatives from the government, International community and the civil society groups have welcomed the change and the re-launch of the Somali Journalists Union.

“UNSOM welcomes re-launch of Somali journalists union and newly elected leaders,” said on official twitter account.

The chairman of Somali Independent Media Houses Association who was at the venue also welcomed the new NUSOJ.

Hassan Ali Gesey called upon Somali Journalists to put their differences aside and work with the new officials of NUSOJ.

The new secretary general Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu has pledged to embark on  development of the union and close working relations with the union members.

He was elected on May 18th at the national elections where over 150 delegates across the country gathered.
