Somali National Leaders Forum have called for unconditional end to escalating tension in Galkacyo.
The leaders have called upon Puntland and Galmudug regional state administrations to end hostilities and solve their difference in the negotiating table.
The leaders who spoke via phone conference have expressed their deep concern on the escalating tension and urged the parties to stop the conflict that has displaced some people.
The leaders said the continuation of the violence is unacceptable and threatens upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections expected in the country next month.
” We will not accept innocent shedding of peoples blood,” They said in joint Press Release.
“Events in Galkacyo is threat to efforts of peace, reconciliation and development,” they added.
The leaders are expected to converge in an emergency meeting in Mogadishu on Monday to discuss the escalating violence in Galkacyo and among other national interest issues.
