National Consultation Forum ends without results as Presidents heads for IGAD summit in Addis

National Consultation Forum by Somali stakeholders on elections in the country expected later this year has ended without results on Friday.

The three days forum attended by regional state leaders, President, PM and the Federal Government international partners was meant to deliberate on the final guidelines and timetable on parliamentary and presidential elections.

According to sources within the meeting the main issues that are becoming stumbling block on the way forward among the Somali leaders and its international partners are possible extension of the election timetable, expense on the historic process and others.

Puntland regional state President Abdiweli Gas has confirmed to the media that there is possible two months extension of current government to elections.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has headed for IGAAD summit in Addis Ababa which will discuss about Somalia elections, South Sudan conflict among others issues in the region block members.

The President is expected to return to Mogadishu on Saturday to join other leaders to discuss contentious issues on elections.
