In Somalia, a journalist detained in kismayo

The interim jubba administration in southern Somalia detained a Puntland TV journalist on Saturday over his reporting, the broadcasters and a Jubaland official said a journalist published news about jubaland soldiers entered the building of election of members of the house over grievance relating salary issues.

The arrest of Omar Yassin was confirmed by local journalist in Kismayo.

“We ask Jubbaland Administration release unconditionally the arrested journalist Omar Yassin we call upon them to respect the media. Freedom of expression and freedom of opinion which are among the most fundamental freedoms and rights in any democratic society.” Said Hassan Ali Geesey, chairman Hassan Ali Geesey.

Somalia is the one of the most dangerous countries to be a journalist, more journalist and media workers have been killed in Somalia in 2015.
