EX-Somali MP behind Mogadishu UN and Airport Suicide Attack

Former member of Somali federal parliament was named as one of the suicide bombers that killed over 20 people near Mogadishu international airport on Tuesday.

Salah Badbado was member of Somali federal parliament in the transitional government from 2000 to 2004.

He was representing his constituency in Sanag region before defecting to the armed group Alshabaab in 2010.

Pro Alshabab media have confirmed saying ex-member of Somali parliament was driving one of the cars full of explosives devices that were targeted on the entrance of the UN and airport compound.

One African Union soldier and several private UN security guards were killed on Tuesday morning attack that brought operations of main international airport in Somali capital at standstill for hours.
