EHAHRDP Chair visits family of slain Radio Mogadishu Journalist

Leading Somali human rights activist has paid visit to the family of Radio Mogadishu female Journalist Hindia Mohamed who was killed early this month.

East and Horn of Africa Human Rights Defender EHAHRDP Chairman Hassan Shire who was accompanied by Somali Independent Media Houses Association Chairman Hassan Ali Gesey, Deputy Information Minister Abdullahi Ali Roble and SNTV and Radio Mogadishu director Abdulrahman Adala visited Hindia Mohamed home in Mogadishu on Tuesday.

Mr. Shire who donated some money to the family of Hindia has pledged to support the family of the journalist who lost her life inline of duty when explosive device planted on her car exploded.

He called upon the protection of media workers in the country saying there are eyes and ears of the society and failure of their protection is costly as far as information gathering and dissemination is concerned.

East and Horn of African Human Rights Defenders Chairman Hassan Shire is leading a high level Human rights delegation in country to assess human right issues in Somalia and provide assistance in the establishment of Independent National human rights commission in the horn of African state.
