The regional parliament of Puntland state of Somalia has elected new assembly speaker on Monday.
The move comes following the ouster of former speaker through vote of no confidence last month.
Ahmed Ali Hashi won with 41 votes over his close contenders Said Samatar Surad and Abdihakim Mohamed Ahmed.
Hashi is the fifth speaker of regional state parliament since established of the autonomous region in 1998.
