Al-shabab attack kills four in Wajer

The Somalia’s Al-Qaeda linked militants, Al-shabaab on Wednesday killed four people in Kenya’s Wajer town following a brutal attack carried out by the group on the town, officials said.

Heavily fortified gunmen attacked Wajeer town near Kenya border along Somalia and the group stormed small shops in the town, killing people massively, witness and residents said.

“The fighters were dispersing AK 47 fire bullets, three people have died inside the attacked shops and the other one died in the hospital “Wajeer police officer Mohamed Siyad told reporters.

Residents said that Al-shabaab fighters were using grenade bombs during the onslaught before police’s arrival at the scene crime. The Al-shabab who pledges loyalty claimed attack responsibility.

The assault comes just a week after Al-shabaab attacked Mandhera county governor convoy inside Kenya near  Somalia border. The governor Ali Roba has survived the group’s attack.
