Kenya Defense Forces early Saturday destroyed a Hormuud telecommunication company mast in the Somali border town of El Wak, Residents said.
A resident who spoke to Radio Dalsan said that the forces crossed into Somalia minutes after 2 am and used explosives to destroy the mast at El Banda less than 2km from El Wak.
Photographs availed to Radio Dalsan newsroom show destruction of the structure around the mast.
KDF has yet to issue any statement regarding the destruction of the mast but affiliated websites and bloggers claim Alshabaab was behind it.
Alshabaab has recently been behind a series of destruction of Safaricom telecommunication masts on the Kenyan side of the border.
