Ilyas Sheikh Ahmed Ibrahim was elected as the MP for Hop147, after the withdrawal of the race his rival competitor Amin Tahliil Warsame on Wednesday morning.
The Interim Elections Committee for Elections for vacant seats in the People’s Assembly of the 11th Parliament of the federal government of Somalia has announced the Election results for HOP147 and Ilyas Sheikh has won with a unanimous votes of 86 by show of hands.
This seat was previously held by Mahad Salad, who vacated the position to head the National Security and Intelligence Agency (NISA).
The interim electoral committee for vacant seats announced that Ahmed defeated Amina Tahleil Warsame by receiving 86 votes.
Ilyas said he looks forward to serving the people.
Duale said he will purpose to serve the country in the best way he knows.
