Former Somali law maker shot dead in Mogadishu

Gunmen have shot dead former Somali legislature Ali Aden in the capital Mogadishu.

Mr. Aden who served at former transitional federal government was killed by unknown assailants at popular Mogadishu Bakara market on Saturday.

No one has so far claimed the responsibility of the attack but armed group Al Shabaab is known for targeting government officials and well known pro government personalities.

Al Shabaab also claimed the responsibility of killing Puntland regional state member of parliament who was shot and killed alongside his driver in the capital, Mogadishu last Saturday.

Nine members of Somali national assembly were killed last year.
