Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmaajo on Wednesday met the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Somalia Mohamed Ahmed Osman Al Hammadi, Radio Dalsan reports.
The two discussed diplomatic relations between Mogadishu and Abu Dhabi which lately has been strained with the former accusing the latter of interfering in Somalia internal politics.
Villa Somalia did not disclose all the details of the meeting between Farmaajo and Al Hammadi which comes three weeks after the Somali president visited Abu Dhabi.
Ambassador Al-Hammadi asserted that UAE will continue to support Somalia’a recovery.
Early this week Somalia released a consignment of bullet proof equipment that had been held at the Mogadishu sea port.
The impounding of the consignment was the latest cause of diplomatic row between the two countries.
The arrest of opposition figure Abdirahman Abdishakur Warasame on allegations that he may have been sponsored by UAE and the fall out between regional states and the Federal government following the Qatar crisis were indicators of the strained relation between the two
