Ethiopia’s OLF Rebels To Return From Eritrea

An estimated 1300 to 1500 Oromo Liberation Front rebels will cross over into Ethiopia from Eritrea on Saturday as it ended ots armed struggle to seek for political solutions.
The group together with ONLF and AG7 were removed from the list of terror organisation by the Ethiopian parliament.

Ethiopia has been undergoing political reforms since Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed took over in April.
OLF rebels have been largely based in neighbouring Eritrea once Ethiopia’s sworn foe.
The rebels will cross the Ethiopian border from Eritrea via Zalambessa, according to Tigray regional state communication affairs bureau.

Woldegebrieal Asgedom, media and communication head at bureau told FBC today that the soldiers will be given a warm welcome by residents of Adigrat and Mekelle.

They will be also accorded a warm welcome in Amhara and Oromia regional states.
OLF has been fighting for the self determination pf the mainly ethnic Oromo region of Oromia.
