President Mohamud Mediate Inter-Clan Conflict in Adalle District
President Hassan Sheikh has on Friday held meeting with traditional elders and religious leaders in Adale and supported their efforts to end the inter clan conflict in the area.
The President urged local residents to unite in the fight against terrorists which is common enemy.
The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is in Adale district, has supported a call for peace issued by scholars, traditional elders and community groups, which will strengthen the reconciliation of communities, the elimination of illegal roadblocks and the acceleration of the war against Al-Shabaab.
“A Muslim who kills his brother is a murderer. He does not belong to the same family or tribe. He is a murderer they have no tribe and the law should be passed,” said the president.
The president noted that Somali cultural traditions are central to Somalis’ desire for reconciliation and social direction, and he urged them to focus on connecting the community and to unite in the fight against Al-Shabaab.
It was read in this meeting a resolution approved by the cabinet related to the new areas to be liberated from al-Shabaab, this resolution includes security and stability, order and order, traffic, control of violations by the military and criminals in the liberated areas.
The President of Hir-Shabelle, Ali Gudlawe Hussein, who was present at the meeting, promised to give priority to the implementation of the provisions of the Just Peace Declaration, in order to achieve peace, development and lasting stability.
In the end, the Daubab and traditional elders signed the call for peace in Adale, which strengthens solidarity and indicates that the community should unite in the fight against al-Shabaab.
Clan clashes in the Adale district killed 50 people and destroyed homes in the affected communities.
Elders from the Middle Shabelle region have recently been involved in efforts to halt the fighting and bring the warring parties to the negotiating table for a peaceful resolution.
