Gov´t Officials Mediate Inter-Clan Conflict in Adalle District

Government officials including military officials mediated inter-clan conflicts that broke out in the Garas weyn area in the Adalle district.

Two Abgaal subclans in southeastern Middle Shabelle reconciled and accepted to co-exist peacefully among themselves.

The peace talks that were held Garas weyn area this week resolved the tension between the two sub-clans that were fighting forces for two months.

Speaking to Dalsan TV, Adale District Commissioner Muse Kele said he called on the government to take immediate response to end clan clashes in the region.

The two clans have fought over the region several times in the past, and while the state and the federal government has been able to mediate between the groups, a lasting solution has never been achieved.
