President Hassan Sheikh restores the ranks of Brigadier General Sadik John
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud restored the ranks of Brigadier General Sadik John on Monday.
In a statement the president said the basis of the law on the formation of the Somali Police Force no. 2 which came out in 1973 pointed out the importance of the Somali Police being the basis of the democratic process and the protection of the law of the country.
´´The President issued a presidential order to restored Brigadier General Saadaq Omar Mohamed to all ranks and military rights he had in the Somali Police, in accordance with Articles 87 and 90 of the Interim Constitution.´´ he said in a statement.
This Presidential Decree came into effect on Monday, August 15, 2022, when it was signed by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
The former Mogadishu police chief who is now a lawmaker opposed the two-year extension proposed by former president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.
He who was fired at that time joined the federal parliament.
