Somalia congratulates Sudan army on 68th anniversary occasion

Somalia has sent a message of congratulations to Sudan on the 68th anniversary of the founding of the Sudanese Armed Forces.

In a statement, Abdukadir Mohamed Nur, the country’s defence said Somalia and Sudan government had historic relations and security cooperation for a long time.

“I would like to congratulate you on behalf of the Ministry of Defense, the Somali National Armed Forces, all the members of your armed forces, Government and people on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the founding of the Sudanese Armed Forces. Happy anniversary and we wish you an everlasting success,” said Nur.

The Sudanese Armed Forces are the military forces of the Republic of the Sudan. In 2011, IISS estimated the regular forces’ numbers at 109,300 personnel, while in 2016–2017, the Rapid Support Forces had 40,000 members participating in the Yemeni Civil War (of which 10,000 returned to Sudan by October 2019).
