Somalia Expresses Solidarity with Egypt on Tragic Fire Accident
Somalia has offered its condolences to Egypt over the victims of the massive fire that ripped through Abu Sefein Church in Imbaba district in Giza governorate early Sunday.
In a statement, the ministry of foreign affairs expressed its heartfelt condolences to Egypt and the Coptic Orthodox Church victims who lost their lives.
´´The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia expressed its sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the brothers in the Arab Republic Egypt , as a result of the tragic fire accident that occurred on the morning of Sunday, August 14, in Church of Abu Sefein in the Imbabah region,´´ the ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
At least 41 people were killed and 14 others injured in the fire that erupted at an Egyptian church west of Cairo early Sunday.
The blaze was blamed on an electrical fault at the Abu Seifein church in densely populated Imbaba, a working-class district west of the Nile River and part of Giza governorate in greater Cairo.
