Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre visits the Environment Directorate in his office in his first day in work.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre on Wednesday paid a visit on the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change.
This is was his first day in office a day after officially taking over the power from former prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.
He was accompanied by outgoing Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Khadar Guleid.
The environment directorate is part of the Office of the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Barre interacted with the officials of the directorate and assessed the daily normal operations of the office.
Ahmed Nur Yusuf, the Director-General of the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change, briefed the Prime Minister the emerging priorities.
Yusuf also brought the Prime Minister up to speed with the ongoing programs in the directorate.
PM Hamza commended the officials of the directorate for their incredible work and encouraged them to continue discharging their duties in line with the expectations of the law and the Somali People.
