Galmudug State Electoral body announces 11 parliamentary seats up for elections
Somalia’s Galmudug State Elections Implementation Team has announced the election schedule of six seats of the House of People of the Federal Parliament whose elections are set to be held in Galkacayo town the administrative region of Mudug.
According to a statement from the State Electoral body, the registration of candidates for the six seats will commence on Thursday this week and set March 5th Saturday as the time when the parliamentary elections will take place.
The elections schedule of the six seats announced by the State Electoral poll is the first seats of the Lower House elections which will be conducted in Galkacayo town that serves as the second voting constituency for the State after Dhusamerab.
NCC meeting on Thursday evening pushed the deadline for the completion of the elections in the country on March 15th after the States failed to conclude the parliamentary elections within the timeline previously agreed on by the council.
