Jubaland Officials Raise Concerns Over Situation Of Second Election Venue City
Senior Jubaland government officials and legislators from Jubaland’s Gedo region met to discuss the possibility of holding elections in the state’s second constituency of Garbaharey, as well as the expected challenges.
In a statement after their meeting, the leaders highlighted the need to hold elections on time but expressed concerns over the situation in Garbaharey. Meanwhile, the leaders stressed the need to extend the election period, given the difficult circumstances facing the Jubaland administration.
The statement emphasised that it was not possible to hold elections in Garbaharey at the moment, noting that an immediate solution was needed. Garbaharey, the second election venue city of Jubaland state, is scheduled to host elections for 16 seats.
