SW State Electoral Commission Releases 13 Seats

The Southwest state electoral commission team has released 13 lower house seats from Barawe constituency on Friday.

Southwest regional state is the first state to release seats from the second polling station as per the agreed-upon electoral pact by the prime minister Mohamed Hussein Roble and the regional state leader.

“The Southwest state electoral commission has announced 13 seats in the House of Representatives to be elected in Barawe the second largest city in the South West State,” Somalia’s Federal Electoral Implementation Team said in a brief statement.

The move by Southwest state assures that the electoral process is abrupt as the polls deadline draws near.

Elections for some seats in the lower house are still underway in other regional states.

The seats announced are: HOP # 016, HOP # 044, HOP # 155, HOP # 150, HOP # 151, HOP # 152, HOP # 153, HOP # 160, HOP # 161, HOP # 250, HOP # 080, HOP # 165 and HOP # 173
