Sudan exempt Somali citizens in Sudan from residence and work permits
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia has announced that Somali citizens living in Sudan are exempt from residence and work permits.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it has succeeded in exempting Somali citizens from residence permits, fines and work cards.
The decision, which came into effect 10 days ago, came as a result of the good cooperation and relations between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Government of Sudan, and the two Governments agreed that their citizens in the two countries should serve each other equally, pardoning all those costs.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked the Sudanese government for its support to the Somali people.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia would like to thank the Government of Sudan for its support to the Government of Somalia and for this opportunity which will benefit nearly 7,000 students and 300 Somali families in the country,” the ministry said in a statement.
There are a large number of Somali nationals in Sudan, including students, businessmen and others living in Sudan.
