Somalia and Norway discuss Cooperation and conflict resolution
Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdisaid Muse Ali received in Mogadishu the Norwegian Special Representative for Somalia, Heidi Elburgi Johansen on Monday.
According to the foreign minister, Abdisaid M. Ali the meeting focused on strengthening ties and cooperation between the two countries.
”It was a pleasure to receive Ms. Heidi Elburgi Johansen today, Norwegian Special Representative for Somalia. We exchanged views on Somalia’s security transition and conflict resolution initiatives,” Abdisaid said.
The minister said they also discussed effective cooperation between Somalia and Norway in the areas of security and conflict resolution.
Somali Foreign Minister Abdisaid Muse Ali thanked Norway for its support to the Federal Government of Somalia.
The Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) for Somalia, HE Heidi Elburgi Johansen, stated that Norway is ready to play its part in rebuilding Somalia.
Norway is one of the main donors to Somalia and has been implementing various projects in parts of Somalia.
