Somalia Reports new 363 COVID-19 cases
The Ministry of Health has recorded 363 new COVID-19 cases from a sample size of 4,430 tests conducted in the last seven days bringing the total number of infections in the country to 23,532.
Briefing the media in Mogadishu, Health Minister Fowziya Abikar Nur, said there were no COVID-19 related fatalities in the past week. The number of fatalities remains at 1,333.
55 more people have recovered from the virus rising the number of recoveries in the country to 12,948.
The Horn of the African nation is one of many countries that has had poor access to COVID-19 vaccines, with less than 4 per cent of the population vaccinated as of November.
There have been at least 9,443,000 reported infections and 227,000 reported deaths caused by the novel coronavirus in Africa according to the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
