Farmaajo Praises Puntland Polls As ''Democratic Milestone'' After Deni Critic Over His Silence

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has hailed the recently concluded local elections in Puntland state of northeastern Somalia hours after Puntland leader criticised his silence.

Speaking to the media over the concluded elections in Garowe, Puntland state leader Said, Abdullahi Deni, accused Farmaajo of not wanting universal suffrage elections held in the country.

“Villa Somalia has kept mum about the historic elections held in Puntland,” said Said. Deni President of Puntland.

Deni praised the election as historic and paved the way for Puntland as a whole to take the path of electing a person and a voice, and thanked the political parties that participated, the people of Puntland and the institutions that took part in holding it. That choice was a test.
