Somalia's COVID-19 Cases Reach 19,723

Somalia’s health ministry has announced that it has recorded 140 new coronavirus cases, raising the country’s total tally to 19,723 cases.

69 people have recovered from the disease. The number of total recoveries is now at 9,414.

Unfortunately, four people have succumbed to the disease. Total fatalities from COVID-19 now stand at 1,103.

Somalia received 108,000 additional of the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to help intensify the fight against the pandemic in the country in August.

In the past months, frontline workers, including health care workers; the elderly people; and people with chronic health conditions were targeted for vaccination.
