Al-Shabaab Denies Killing Female Spy Ikran Tahlil
Al-Shabaab militants on Friday dismissed claims by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) that it killed a missing intelligence agent Ikran Tahlil.
In a statement published on a website affiliated to the group, the spokesman said they do target NISA officials but they did not abduct and killed the Ikran.
“We target senior leaders of the anti-terrorism’s intelligence service (NISA) and we claim responsibility for their deaths but we have nothing to do with her abduction and killing.” the statement read.
on Thursday National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) said in a statement that Ikran who had gone missing while on duty had “fallen in the hands of Al-Shabaab.”
She was missing from June 26 raising a storm with her family constantly asking the government to explain her disappearance or produce her. Politicians also picked up the issue and made it a campaign subject.
