Somalia records 194 new COVID-19 cases, 15 deaths
The Ministry of Health has reported that 194 people tested positive for COVID-19 from a sample size of 3,205 tested in the last 24 hours.
This now brings the total number of confirmed cases in the Horn of the African nation to 17,210.
According to the health ministry, 15 succumbed to the disease raising the total number of fatalities to 953.
74 more people were reported to have recovered from the disease hence the total number of recoveries is now at 8,286.
Somalia has seen an upsurge in daily new COVID-19 infections in the past months.
The Horn of African nation is experiencing a second wave of the virus which prompted the government to launch the COVID-19 vaccination exercise for its civil servants.
