Injured SNA Colonel Airlifted To Turkey For Specialized Treatment
Somali military official who was injured in a military base bombing in the Middle Shabelle region has been airlifted to Turkey on Monday evening for specialized treatment.
Sources have confirmed to Dalsan Colonel Saney Abdulle, one of the military injured in Friday’s suicide bombing in Biya-Adde was flown to Turkey after his health deteriorated.
At least eight soldiers were killed in the blast on Friday and more than 12 others including senior military officials wounded in the attack.
Colonel Saney Abdulle was among the Commanders who deployed their troops in the capital Mogadishu in April 2021 in an opposition to an extension of incumbent President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo.
The Al-Qaeda linked militant group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing.
The Somali military has intensified its offensive against the al-Qaeda-affiliated group as the country prepares for parliamentary and presidential elections in less than 40 days.
